Monnaie de Paris

Visited the Monnaie de Paris to view the 2016 exposition by AD Intérieurs magazine - living spaces designed by contemporary interior designers around the theme of 'collections'.

The Monnaie de Paris was the original Paris mint, established in 864, and still producing artistic and commemorative coins today.  It's a beautiful exhibition space, overlooking the Seine from Quai de Conti in the 6th arrondissement.  While an interior design exhibition is not really our style, we love the renaissance of the Monnaie de Paris and their continued connection to the public by way of a series of diverse exhibitions.

Amongst the rooms, ranging from jet-set James Bond style to minimalist sound booth, our favourite room was the lush Venice / Paris curated by Dutch interior designer Gert Voorjans.  Monsieur Voorjans was present today and it was fun to watch him interacting with the visitors (Brent was impressed that M. Voorjans wore Paul Smith pyjamas with a bow tie - PS they were not pjs!).

Walked home via concept store Colette, stopping for coffee within the grand arcades and playful courtyards of the Palais-Royal, and then a wander through the beautiful purple hues of the jardin des Tuileries.
