Each year we have visited Le Bon Marché there has been a feature exposition - art combined with retail. This year's exposition is Welcome to Los Angeles ... retail displays and events celebrating Los Angeles as a hub for surfers, skaters and rockers. The events include not only the celebrity party night, but a program of yoga and poundfit classes, tattoo-sketching on Wolford tights, your own tattoo indelibly inscribed by LA tattooist Dr Woo, and demonstrations by professional skaters.
There are two installations in the store, created by Scott Oster, an LA skater, surfer, DJ, curator, designer, architect ... now that's one stellar resumé! He has created Le Cube, a full pipe (skater terminology!) inside the form of a mirrored cube, suspended within the store.
Whether or not I'm a fan of the exposition, I love the installations and the altered perspective they provide as you move around the store. The store itself is quite beautiful ... easy to forget a grey day.

I was so excited when I read you had been back to Poilane, we loved that little cafe beside the bakery. And when we bought bread that it came with instructions on how to care for it! You manage to do so much and go so many places. Hopefully one day, we will get to wander the streets of Paris together.
If you get a chance check out FRANCART on rue Daphuine (hope I spelt that right). She makes beautiful home cooked food and has lovely wines and cheeses to go with you meal. We would purchase food here and take it home to eat that night. She had a list of what would be available each day/night of the week. It was so good.
