Le Marais...always a fave

Started the day at a teeny cafe just around the corner...great coffee with a delicious cinnamon scroll and cardamon pastry. Coffee has become something of a celebrity in Paris and there are lots of small, specialist roasteries and cafes taking their barista processes very seriously! This makes for a great coffee, but can be pretty pricey...euros 5.50 for a latte (I'm always a cheap shout drinking black!).

We had an appointment in the Marais area this afternoon and it was wonderful to be back. This is definitely my favourite part of Paris, a creative, constantly evolving mix of new and old, and every corner a surprise. I love these streets and we'll be back to spend more time before we leave. We lunched at the Marché des Enfants Rouges, the oldest covered market in Paris. There is a wide choice of market stalls, where you can order your meal, choose one of the nearby tables and the food is brought to you...we chose Moroccan and had tasty cous cous, served on earthenware plates.

Later in the day Monsieur B did some t-shirt shopping and we visited a record shop, Superfly, which resulted in a tote bag full of treasures.

A long, slightly weary walk home, but it's Friday night...and that means du vin et de la bière. Santé and a happy weekend!

I am sure du vin et de la biere would be perfect after such a busy day.
