Mardi...every day should start with brunch

We headed off a little later than usual today with just a general direction and brunch in mind...and arrived at Extraction Coffee, an open space with an industrial feel and the glass windows folded back to make the most of the morning breeze. We both had fluffy pancakes in maple syrup, Brent's with eggs and bacon, mine with salmon. The meals were scrumptious and a picture to look at, scattered with red currants and goji berries (I really should do that Instagram thing!). The coffee was perfect! I had actually ordered pancakes with fruit, but the chef made a mistake...le serveur realised and was so apologetic. I tried to reassure him it was totally fine and that the salmon was probably better for me, but he insisted on making us a dish of yoghurt, granola and fresh fruit to share - apple, kiwi fruit, blueberries, raspberries, red currants, poppy seeds and goji berries, and decorated with colourful flowers. What a treat! Not quite sure how we managed to fit all that in...

We visited a few favourite spots for a little shopping, a record store (yes, another!)...a pause for coffee, picked up a dessert for later tonight and finally headed home...to a cleaned and refreshed apartment (now, that's a treat!).

Brunch first is a good way to start your day of visiting a few favorite stops, and to come back to a refreshed apartment....perfect.
