And the touristy things

Have not yet braved the metro, so lots of walking. To date have visited Musee Picasso and marvelled at the 17th century building in which it is housed, basked in the sun in the renaissance courtyards of the Hotel Sully, explored (and got lost in) much of the Marais quartier (a cross between Brunswick and Greville Streets). Wandered the Ile Saint Louis and visited the breathtaking Cathedrale Notre Dame and Ste-Chapelle on Ile del la Cite. Haven't climbed the Notre Dame towers due to (1) the queue and (2) my absolute lack of enthusiasm for high places on windy days!

(is that a gargoyle escaped from the tower???)

Ruby, I went on a cruise along the Seine and we passed the Tour Eiffel. I could see the external lifts and the heights they reach ... and people climbing down stairs built into the structure ... I know you will be disappointed if I miss this once in a lifetime chance, but it might be better than having to be rescued by helicopter! (unless the rescuer is perhaps a handsome pompier ou gendarme!)

Wandered the streets of Saint-Germaine des Pres. Tres upmarket ... may have done a little shopping ... below is the famous literary corner that was the hangout of the likes of Kerouac, Beauvoir, Hemingway, et al

and today I might just venture into the Metro

Hi Sally,
Since this visit to the blog, I have been staring at the pics and willing myself to matter transmit to join you for cafe creme (and a trip, via Metro, to Rue des Abesses). It's wonderful to read about your days and can't wait for the next installment.

Hi Sally,
Love looking at the photos...the twins love them too. Every time they see a photo of you they yell "Sally!" in unison. Very funny. Keep having fun.
