Parc de Bercy (Sunday)

Monday night we are off to rock it at the Guns N Roses concert in Paris. We need to pick up our tickets at the arena just before the show so set out today on "recon" to the venue to check the lay of the land. The venue is about half an hour walk from the apartment so getting to and fro will be easy.
Once that was done we continued on to Bercy Village, a complex of shops and restaurants built in and around former wine warehouses. As it was the weekend the village was busy with locals dining and strolling. We opted for a nutella crepe from a takeaway stand and dined on a shady seat in the Parc de Bercy.
Walked back through the park and discovered the Cinematheque Francaise. Being in the company of a movie buff and having just become acquainted with Henri Langlois, the founder of Cinematheque Francaise, at Cimitiere Montparnasse yesterday, we were just meant to visit. Explored a wonderful musee du cinema, browsed the librairie and tried to talk Brent into staying an additional fortnight so we could attend the David Lynch retrospective - no luck, although I know he really wants to - sigh.
On the way home wandered through a street photography exhibition of toilets of the world. The Australian photo was taken in Alice Springs and is an image of Prince Charles leaving an outback loo.
Stopped for a coffee at Les Mousquetaires and - visual treat of the day - witnessed an elderly couple ride by on their bicycle, monsieur cycling and madam perched sidesaddle in front of him, her petite derriere atop a wooden board fixed to the bicycle bar! George and Lils, did you really need that new car?
Enjoyed a wonderful soiree, dinner with a dear boss, colleague and friend of many years and her husband - Karin and Daryl - at Au Petit Fer a Cheval. Tres, tres bon, and such a treat to meet up with friends from Australia who I so rarely see.
