Today we went to an exhibition at Hotel de Ville, Paris vu par Hollywood. The exhibition comprised film excerpts, production notes, design drawings, French advertising posters and costumes for Hollywood films featuring Paris from the 1930s to current day. Whether it was a recreated Hollywood set or actually shot on location in Paris, it was clear that the essence of the streets is what provides the magic...the views of Paris in the films from the 1950s have much in common with the films of today, and the sense of Paris we have as we wander the arrondissements. Humphrey, I agree with you...we'll always have Paris!

Hi Sally & Brent, How fantastic that as you wander the arrondissements of Paris you have a sense of the 1950's and also the Paris of to-day - why would they want anything to change - such a beautiful city. L&G
