A bientot Paris...

So here it is, the eve of our departure for home.  As I'm typing this, the sun is going down and I'm watching the shadows change on the apartment walls across the courtyard.  Someone is playing tennis on the courts behind the school and I'm feeling inspired to pack a racquet next year, now I know how close the courts are!  I might have to give Brent a crash course...he tells me he's good at table tennis!

Each year that we come to Paris it feels more like "home away from home".  We get to know friends from previous trips a little better and we know, as we do at home, where to find our favourite spots.  We know our favourite stalls at the market, which boulangeries are shut on which days, and where to eat depending on our mood.  Most importantly, we know where to find our favourite baguette and when to queue for a warm one, fresh from the oven!

It has been un vrai plaisir to catch up with friends from our previous apartment at rue Saint Antoine, and an even greater pleasure to know that the rue Saint Antoine apartment will be available next year!  We had coffee and croissant at Le Preau this morning and said goodbye to madame and mademoiselle...l'annee prochaine they said...oui, oui, bien sur, l'annee prochaine...
