très hip Colette store, lunch in rue Richelieu and a wander through the always beautiful Jardin du Palais Royal...with a visit to Paralleles record store on the way home (wonderful...they had a copy of the book from the recent David Bowie exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London...kept me occupied the whole time Monsieur was digging through the vinyl!!).
The Jardin du Palais Royal is at the centre of a square of shadowed, arched walkways. Under the arches you find an electic range of tiny shops...from vintage clothing to independent designers to the luxe...and, in the garden, locals and tourists alike, lunching on take-aways or dining under the umbrellas of the garden cafés.
Outside the Jardin, the busy café in Place Colette serves a more formal clientele...and their furry friends!

Dear Sally & Brent, Just love these 'photos. Wonderful the way the gardens are appreciated by so many people - at all times of the day. Love, L&G
A David Bowie exhibition at the Victoria and Albert - never heard the like!A peek at the catalogue would definitely fill in the time as you watched Brent's back side sticking out of a dusty box full of black vinyl.
Are we talking the whole sweep here from hippy/psychodelic Dave through to the black hatted elder statesman? If so the displays must have been chokka - A few embroidered frocks when he Sold the World, a comb and hairspray used to spike up Ziggy's hair, his Aladdin Sane make up kit with extra sticks of blue for the lightening bolts, the Thin White Duke's cocaine spoon and an ashtray full of cigarette butts, a bottle of copper beech hairdye used before shooting the Low albumn cover???
Sally, didn't you just feel like dumping Paris and heading straight over to London to see if one or two exhibits hadn't been packed up yet.
If that wasn't possible then maybe the universe was in tune and Brent suddenly broke your reverie with 'HEY SALLY! I've just found the ultra rare 1974 Bowie/Julie Andrews EP - The Thin White Duke sings the Lonely Goatherd.
Paul
