I knew when I met you an adventure was going to happen ― A.A. Milne

We did most of our packing yesterday so we would have some free time today for a wander.  It was a beautiful day and we walked to Ile Saint-Louis, back to the Marais and then a detour for a late-ish lunch before home for check-out housework and final suitcase stuffing.  We both loathe this time and usually there are tears from moi - it's not that I'm unhappy to be going home, it's just I'm sad to leave!

There's been many different experiences this trip and many highlights.  We both loved the atmosphere of the Colosseum, where the atmosphere was so heavy with history it gave you goosebumps.  The concert at the Théatre Antique in Orange was another highlight - it was really a carefree couple of days and the concert under the stars was fabulous.  And...Paris, bien sur!

For my birthday Brent gave me (well, both of us - he never likes to miss out on a pressie!) an Aesop London travel kit.  Now, I don't normally get excited by cosmetics, but this little kit has been an absolute joy in our travels.  A cute zip-top bag full of tiny bottles of Aesop goodies wrapped up in a cotton square - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body balm, face cleanser, toner, hydrator, mouthwash.  We spent the first part of the trip living out of a suitcase and the Aesop kit was perfect.  If you're looking for a special gift for a traveller...then this is the one!

So it's time to say à bientôt, Paris.  We hope to return next year.  Our Parisien friend, Rita, put it very eloquently when she said, "It is important to have and respect some traditions in life...among them is visiting us each year!"  Well, who are we to argue with tradition!

I leave you with some pics of the view from our window...ma petite joie every morning and every evening.
