Le chat et la souris...music in the 9th

Spent a few hours wandering around an interesting part of the 9th arrondissement today...just on the edge of Clichy and Pigalle.  Shops selling and repairing musical instruments, organisations for areas of the musical arts...and a record shop or two.

A new record shop for us...Le chat et la souris...and what fun!  Not only does it sell vinyl, it also sells vintage wares and a range of house-made jewellery.  Love it!  I found a cute Gauloises china ashtray in a beautiful Gauloises blue - I sense this could be the start of a collection!

The vinyl was helpfully sorted and there was lots of it - first time I've ever seen a section for 'Sexy Covers'!!  The owner, Michel, was so keen for us to experience French music, he looked at Monsieur's selection - Blondie, Bowie and some reggae 12s - for inspiration, and dug out some late 70s/early 80s French synth pop and post-punk rock.  We settled on a 1979 album by 'Jacno', his first solo album following his career with punk band Stinky Toys.  Merci Michel!
