A couple of quiet days spent wandering quartiers of Paris close to chez nous: the Marais, Pantheon, Republique, Pere Lachaise, and all the ponts, rues, places and passages along the way; not forgetting brunch at the colourful Marche Bastille. Bananes at "un euro" a kilo - and who could refuse to buy from a market man feeding you grapes as you browse! Bought lunch from a boulangerie and walked to Cimetiere du Pere Lachaise, where we sat and ate in the peaceful beauty of the cobbled allees, weeping trees and carved stones.
