A special encounter today...unexpectedly, dans la rue, with Andre, a resident and the gardien of the apartment block where we have stayed for the past few years. It was a joy to see a familiar face and be greeted like old friends. We exchanged email addresses and will catch up for an aperitif with him and his wife Marie very soon. C'est un petit monde!

Place des Vosges
Has to be one of my most favourite places in Paris. Hardly a day passes without us walking through the square or finding a seat to share with the pigeons. At lunchtime the square is full of secondary students in circles des amis, sitting or lying on the grass and using their backpacks for pillows; on Wednesdays, when the primary school students have no school, and on weekends, the playground is abuzz; and in the mid afternoon the older generation find a warm spot to stop with their tiny chiens perched on their knees. Je l'adore!
