A day at Dorsoduro

Visited the In Praise of Doubt contemporary art exhibition at the Punta Della Dogana. This gallery is one of two in Venice that are home to the private collection of billionaire Francois Pinault. The Punta Della Dogana is a restored customs building right on the sea-facing point of the Dorsoduro sestiere and is a magnificent gallery space. Loved the exhibition and look forward to viewing more of the collection at Palazzo Grassi.

Visited the Future Pass Biennale exhibition at ex chiesa di S. Gregorio - an exhibition of pop-style art and sculpture - and a Biennale exhibit by New Zealander Michael Parekowhai at the Palazzo Loredan dell'Ambasciatore. As part of the NZ exhibit a sculpture of a bull on a piano had been installed in the garden of Palazzo Loredan and we sat in the shade while a pianist played a decoratively carved, bright red grand piano in the water level, marbled foyer.

Particularly like the garden setting for the bull on the piano. Again, the 'photos are great. L&G
