Out and about

Like almost every day to come we started with petite dejeuner at Le Preau before heading off on our wanders. After the delicious marmalade-filled "marmalata" croissants of Venezia (or those filled with honey or jam) I thought we might find the Paris croissants a trifle boring...not so! A good croissant, after all, is a good croissant!
Visited the Paris sur Seine exhibition at Hotel de Ville - an exhibition of fetes nautiques through the ages and the evolution of the Paris Plage - the summer beach along the Seine in Paris. It was a great exhibition of art, photos and video from the 18th century through to the 1940s to the present day. Those cossies worn by the swimmers in the 1940s were a treat to behold!
On to the Pompidou centre where we found that the new exhibition - Edvard Munch - starts later in September, so we'll be back for that. A gorgeous autumn day in gay Paris!
