Fun with Moliere and the Steins

Visited the new exposition at the Grand Palais, "Matisse, Cezanne, Picasso...l'aventure des Stein". A selection of art works originally collected by Gertrude, Leo, Michael and Sarah Stein; photographs of Gertrude in her Paris apartment with her brothers and sister-in-law, Alice Toklas and the artists and writers who attended the Stein soirees; handwritten notes to the Steins from their regular visitors; film of Gertrude reading from her books. Wonderful!

I realised that we have only a few days left and I haven't yet captured a photo of a Border Terrier in Paris for Fi, Paul and Ruby...thank goodness Henri Matisse saves the day with his inclusion of a Border in his work "le the dans le jardin!

Wandered back from the Grand Palais along the ritzy rue Saint Honore, then on to rue Richelieu where Moliere is looking gayer than we last saw him - seated behind a graffitied market van, witch's hat on his head and a bottle of wine in hand!

Hi Sally & Brent, Moliere certainly looks relaxed in his accessories. What a great exhibition. It is always interesting to see the influence artists and writers have on each other's work. L&G
