Bellagio

We took the ferry from Varenna, across the lake to Bellagio.  The weather is perfect - sunny and a cool breeze - and the ferry ride takes only about 10 minutes.  Bellagio is pretty, with steep cobbled streets like Varenna, but it's much busier and a little glitzy - what I'd call a well-heeled crowd (and me in my sneakers!).

We walked along the water's edge to Villa Melzi and wandered through the manicured gardens.  Back to the town centre for lunch and then a walk along the water in the opposite direction to the lookout point at Punta Spartivento.

The return ferry trip gives us some great vistas of Varenna from the water.  Back to the apartment for a sun-snooze on the terrace...now, this is the life!
