Oui, oui, oui, breakfast at Au Petit Versailles...my favourite pause in the day.
First stop, an exposition at Hotel de Ville - Le Dressing de Rêve des Parisiens - a showcase for the new generation of fashion designers in Paris. Cool, non?
Then on to Centre Pompidou to visit two temporary exhibitions: Julien Prévieux - a mixture of drawings, film, abstract sculpture and installations; and Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster - mixed media in a series of connected rooms. We always enjoy Centre Pompidou - it's an amazing space, always interesting for a wander, even if you don't visit the collection or exhibitions.
We stopped for lunch in rue Montorgeuil - a pedestrian eat-street, and wander in rue Tiquetonne - a street with some alternative kind of shops and Brent's favourite sneaker shop, WESC. Then a metro over to Merci, a concept store always fun for a wander, and...finally...my annual visit to Antonio at Marie Antoinette - a tiny, tiny but oh so gorgeous perfume shop - to pick up a bottle of my favourite fragrance, Eau Suave by Parfum d'Empire.
Headed towards home for a baguette from our local boulangerie, with a detour to the Hôtel de Sully to take in the installations in the garden.
It's so good when the rain stops...minimum metro travel and maximum street wander.
