Fondation Louis Vuitton...bravo!

Today was cloudy, then sunny, then cloudy...you get it!  Much more inspiring weather than we've had for the past few days.

We headed off to the Fondation Louis Vuitton, a contemporary art gallery that opened in 2014 (just after our last trip) and which is located at the edge of the Jardin d'Acclimatation in the Bois de Boulogne.  We were excited to be coming here.  We had read about the Fondation, the project of French businessman and art collector Bernard Arnault, and the building, designed by Frank Gehry.  Currently the third stage of the inaugural program of the Fondation is featured at the gallery - Pop et Musique - right up our alley!

Oh, my goodness, out of this world!  The gallery is an amazing construction of curves, angles, wood, steel, glass, and water.  There is the grotto - an area with mirrors, illuminated columns and water - and outdoor terraces that allow you to view Paris framed by the angles of the building.  Inside, you find your way from gallery to gallery almost by accident...often not seeing another person on the way.  Sometimes it felt like we had been locked in after closing, but someone had left the videos running and the lights on.  Sculpture, videos, media of all types - love, love, loved it!

I want to go back tomorrow...

We left the gallery through the Jardin d'Acclimatation exit, stopping for lunch from a food truck in the park and eating in the sun...these are a few of my favourite things!

I almost fell asleep just looking at the photo of the deck chairs facing the metranomes. That is one relaxing exhibition!
