Reconnecting with Paris

Breakfast at Au Petit Versailles du Marais this morning - our favourite local boulangerie.  Still the familiar faces...I love that!  We hadn't planned anything for today, so decided just to have a wander and see where we ended up.  It's fun meandering the streets, recognising shops and cafés from previous years, and checking out what's changed in the neighbourhood.

We make our way over to Île Saint-Louis and stop for lunch in a crêperie.  We notice a new barber shop in rue Saint-Louis en l'Île and Brent comments that "a barber shop, a butcher, a cheese and wine shop and a boulangerie all in a row...it really is a perfect street", and we ponder ideas, as we walk, that may one day let us spend more time here.

Funny...our feet find their way to Crocodisc...a favourite record shop in rue des Ecoles in the 5ème.  Ooh la la...new stock of 12 inch singles from the 80s...and from a collector who has loved them dearly and kept them in pristine condition - crate digging doesn't get much better than this!

It's a tiring business, this record buying, and eventually we emerge for sustenance...rosé pour moi et un diabolo menthe (lemonade and green mint syrup) for monsieur.

Happy days...
