Sunday night we caught up with Rita and Gérard, our annual get-together when we're in Paris. Rita and Gérard have a rental apartment in the Marais, which we have taken numerous times for our month-long stay in Paris, and we have become friends over the years.
Their hospitality is always overwhelming. It's one of my precious joys to share an aperitif or a meal with them in their beautiful apartment. They always make time to meet with us, and it's always a night of champagne, wonderful food, laughter, and conversation in mixed French and English.
On the way home we detoured via the Louvre to enjoy the night lights of the pyramid and the peace of the almost deserted Cour Napoléon.

Hi Sally & Brent,
What a good night, catching up with your friends. The 'photos of the pyramid are quite stunning........Love L&G
Absolutely amazing.
I have a group of friends who were very likely nearby you when you took these photos of the Louvre. I have seen almost identical photos come through from them in the last few hours, so might check their pictures a little closer and see if I can find you lurking in the background ;^)
Have had to catch up on your last few posts all at once today... The Centre Pompidou looks amazing, nothing like a giant pair of walking lips in a fountain to make you smile. And just adore the foyer of your apartment building, you're quite lucky to have a lift from my experience in Europe, even if it is for a single user.
Hope you're having a wonderful time.
Daniel
