At the Jardin the tennis courts were empty, the green metal chairs gathered, waiting for players. Small groups of older Parisiens practiced their sequence of tai chi poses. A few soldiers patrolled, in pairs, guns ready, but smiling and chatting with each other. Mostly the gardens were hued pink and purple, but to the front of the palace the flowers were yellow and orange, and, behind the palace, flowers in blue.
There is an exposition at the Orangerie, 'Fleurs and Fruits au Jardin', illustrating current practices and sharing future plans for the Jardin.
I love these gardens...if I could, I'd join the tennis club and, between sets, I'd sit on those oh-so-Parisien green metal chairs, chatting en Français to my team mates...
