One night in Pozzallo

We arrived in Pozzallo on Thursday about lunchtime.  Even though check-in was 3pm, our new host, Angelo, at Casa Mare had let us know we could arrive early...time for the beach!

Case Mare is like a tiny beach village.  Angelo's house, surrounded by maybe five or six apartments of differing size.  Each one is self-contained with all the facilities you need, and there is a gorgeous communal garden area overlooking the beach.  We chose Casa Mare because it is only a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal...and we need to be at the ferry around 7.30am tomorrow.

Fernando, Angelo's four-footed offsider, showed us to our room and settled in while we unpacked.  For those who have left pets at home while they're on holidays, it's always a treat to share some love with a furry friend!

Pozzallo is very proud of its Bandiera Blu (blue flag) awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education for quality, safety, environmental management, education and information.  The water is clear, the beach sandy, and the perfect temperature for swimming...or, rather, just floating around!

We spent the afternoon at the beach - first scouting out the walk to the ferry terminal - then dinner at a seafood restaurant just a short walk from Angelo's.

Both Angelo and Fernando were up early on Friday to wish us arrivederci.  We could easily have spent a few more days there!

It looks to me that Fernando has a very contented, happy existence.
The beach looks very inviting.
