Remember yesterday how I said I loved the Marais...well, it drew us back again today. It's a combination of the beauty of the area and the fact that we know it so well...but always there's a surprise.
Comme d'habitude we began with coffee (and, today, pain au chocolat) at Le Nemrod, where we planned our moves for the day. I love that time of the morning. We take a table on the street, order our café crème et café allongé, open our Paris Pratique map book and plan what will follow. The usual morning waiter has grown accustomed to our faces and greets us with, "Bonjour, ça va?". "Oui, ça va," we say. We give him such a big Cheshire-cat smile he probably thinks we're crazy, but this is our Paris joy...the magic of these everyday moments.
So, the Marais. We visited a few favourite stores, coffee'd at La Perle and lunched at the Rose Bakery. Then a metro to Voltaire to pay a visit to Heartbeat Vinyl - a rare Rolling Stones 12" of Emotional Rescue, a cushioned seat for me and an enthusiastic shop-owner-collector to chat with, who kept the music playing!
Such a perfect day...

Hi Sally & Brent, Once again, the 'photos are great. No mention yesterday of any food or drinks - was it a day of fasting? Quite sure any waiter would not mind seeing a few cheshire grins during his day. Love, L&G
