Sunshine, sea breeze, sandals...not much else to report but a day spent enjoying the streets of Ortigia.
It was Sunday, and we were not quite sure how the day would pan out...each city has its own way of opening over the weekend. What we did learn is that the majority of shops open from about 11am to 1pm, close, then re-open from 5pm until 9pm. The opening hours work perfectly with the weather. By about 11am the heat is pretty intense and we are finding that we head back to the apartment around this time - where we can sit in the sun, move out of the sun, sit in the sun, move...you get the picture! By about 5pm the day is cooling down and we head out for a walk, start thinking about a spritz, over which we discuss what to do for dinner...mmmm, life is good! Dinner crowds really hit around 9pm, which keeps the streets lively until late. This routine is really working for me...

Hi Sally & Brent,
Love the photos on the blog, but noticed a cross stitch book in the right hand column ... yay! Sicily looks great, but that book looks fantastic!
Love Fi
I am with Fi - the book steals the show. So exciting,
Enjoy the sunshine, it is freezing here.
