The hydrofoil to Messina was pretty quiet, so lots of seats and luggage storage available. Weather was beautiful again, which made for a calm trip. Then the train from Messina to Catania...on time, no platform changes!
We had booked a transfer from Catania train station, and the driver delivered us to our door in Ragusa, finally arriving about 4.30pm. Long day...and so ready for a shower!
The Ragusa apartment is located on the Piazza Duomo, overlooked by the grand Duomo di San Giorgio. We've really only had time to unpack (put the washing on!) and have a brief wander...but the town looks really interesting. We are staying in the old town of Ragusa Ibla, and its an uphill climb to the modern town of Ragusa Superiore...but apparently some great views as you make your way back down. It's also an uphill climb to our apartment...a multitude of steps to the top floor...guess those calves are going to get another workout!
